Former India captain and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on Monday (March 8) said he is back to work after fully recovering from the health issue. He had suffered chest pain and was hospitalized twice in January this year.

Ganguly had to undergo two rounds of angioplasty and doctors had ensured he will be fine soon. He had to avoid traveling outside West Bengal after the treatment.

The 48-year-old was not present in Ahmedabad for the Day-Night Test match, which was also the first international match at the newly renovated Narendra Modi Stadium.

"Fit, absolutely fine, I am back to work for a while now. It was a small blemish. I really don't see it as a scare, as you grow older, adjustments tend to happen. I am very lucky that it was a very small one, it could have been bigger.

"But they say, you need to address immediately whatever happens. That was the best part of it. Fit and fine, that's the best part of it," Ganguly told India Today Sports Consulting Editor, Boria Majumdar.

Ganguly is planning to be at Narendra Modi Stadium later this month for the five-match T20I series between India and England. The series starts from March 12, and it will be followed by 3 ODIs which are currently scheduled to be played in Pune and may see a change in the venue because of the rise in COVID-19 cases.

"I will travel and go for the T20Is. I will go to Ahmedabad for either the 2nd or the 3rd T20I.

"I could not travel then because I was just two weeks out of the hospital. I was not allowed to take a place. Now it's fine, everything is healthy, I will take the vaccine and then start flying.

"I am back at work and absolutely fit to be honest. Absolutely spick and span, medical science is so good these days."
