“You can tag me and Kaps as well, Junior,” Ravi Shastri takes his revenge on Yuvraj Singh

Shastri got back at Yuvraj for his cheeky dig when the current coach had lauded the 2011 WC winning bunch.

Ravi Shastri along with his 1983 World Cup winning teammatesCurrent and former cricketers are celebrating India’s maiden World Cup win which came 37 years ago in 1983 when they beat the mighty West Indies in the finals at Lord’s. Kapil Dev’s brilliant team shocked the world with their amazing performance.

No one had given them a chance of reaching the semis, let alone winning the tournament itself. However, Kapil Dev put enough confidence in his devils to take them all the way and with a combined team effort, India won their first World Cup title and changed the course of the game in the country.

“It win laid the platform of self-confidence for Indian cricket,” says 1983 World Cup hero Mohinder Amarnath

India then repeated the brilliant performance once again, 28 years later, when MS Dhoni’s team won the World Cup at home, beating Sri Lanka in the finals in Mumbai. The hero and Player of the tournament of 2011 victory, Yuvraj Singh paid tribute to the 1983 World Cup winners.

A moment of national pride, our seniors lifted the 1983 Cricket World Cup on this day Congratulations to every member of the 1983 team You set the benchmark for us to achieve the same in 2011! Looking forward to India becoming a world champion in all sports," Yuvraj tweeted.

Current India head coach Ravi Shastri was one of the youngest stars of the 1983 tournament and decide to take a cheeky dig at Yuvraj’s wishes and quoted his tweet saying, "Thanks, Junior! You can tag me and Kaps also @therealkapildev.

The subtle dig at Yuvraj Singh was a reply to the left-handed all-rounder’s cheeky comment at Shastri, who had paid tribute to the 2011 winning team in April earlier this year.

Yuvraj Singh with the 2011 World Cup Player of the Tournament trophy"Many Congratulations Guys! Something you will cherish all your life. Just like we from the 1983 group #WorldCup2011 - @sachin_rt @imVkohli," wrote Shastri, tagging on Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar.

Yuvraj Singh, who was a major contributor to World Cup 2011, cheekily responded to Shastri and asked him to tag him and Dhoni as well. "Thanks, senior ! U can tag me and mahi also we were also part of it," he wrote.

It seems Shastri is not the one to take things laying down and had the last laugh over Yuvraj Singh.
