Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar doesn't think the current era of cricket is as tough as the one in which he played. He cited it as one of the reasons why he never compares players from two different eras.

Akhtar finds it absurd when fans and cricket experts draw a comparison between Virat Kohli, who is a modern great, with Sachin Tendulkar, the highest run-scorer of all times in international cricket.

To highlight his point, he even went on to say that Sachin would have scored over 130 thousand runs if the legendary India batsman had played in the current era.

“Tendulkar batted in the toughest era of cricket. If he had to get the chance now, he may hit more than 1.30 lakh runs. So, it’s not good to make a comparison between Sachin and Kohli,” Akhtar was quoted as saying in Cricket Pakistan.

Kohli is currently called as the 'run-machine', and he has already scored 21901 runs for the Indian team. Many can see him breaking the record of Sachin with a lot of cricket left in the Indian captain.
