Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar, who has been part of the commentary panel for a long time, was removed from the panel by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

As per the reports, BCCI was not happy with his work. “Yes, he wasn’t a part of the panel for this series, but it doesn’t mean that during the next series, he won’t be there. I don’t know what exactly was the trigger,” an agency report said quoting an unnamed BCCI official.

The source further added, “Maybe he will be left out from the IPL panel too. At this stage, it is not on top of our minds.”

The BCCI president Sourav Ganguly kept mum on the exclusion of Majrekar from the BCCI/IPL commentary team. He said 'no comment' when asked about the removal of Sanjay.

In 2016, Harsha Bhogle was dropped from the commentary team by BCCI due to alleged criticism from Indian players. He later made a return to the commentary panel.
