Kohli, Rahul consolidate positions among top 10; Bumrah jumps up to 12th in ICC T20I rankings 

The Indian trio played key roles in the team's recent T20I series whitewash over New Zealand.

KL Rahul | GettyIndia captain Virat Kohli kept his tenth position while the team's opener KL Rahul retained his second slot in the ICC T20I rankings released this Thursday (February 27). Pakistan's Babar Azam remains the numero uno batsman in the list with 879 rating points after a prolific run in the format. 

Rahul dominated the recent T20I series in New Zealand, scoring 224 runs in five innings, including two fifties. The right-hand batsman attained 823 rating points after helping India whitewash the Black Caps 5-0.

Third in counting is Australian captain Aaron Finch, who bridged the gap between him and Babar, Rahul with quality performances in his team's 2-1 series victory over South Africa. The opener has 820 rating points. 

Colin Munro (785), Glenn Maxwell (721), Dawid Malan (712), Evin Lewis (702), Hazratullah Zazai (692), Eoin Morgan (687) hold the rest of the spots among top nine. 

Kohli holds the tenth ranking spot with 673 rating points followed by his deputy Rohit Sharma at 11th with 662 rating points. 

David Warner made 128 runs in three innings, including two fifties, versus the Proteas to climb to 18th spot while his mate Steve Smith jumped up 25 spots to be placed 53rd for his handy contributions in the middle-order. 

Among the bowlers, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah jumped to 12th spot in the chart where Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan currently reigns supreme. 

Australian spin duo Adam Zampa and Ashton Agar moved forward to the third and fourth place, respectively, after taking 13 wickets between them in the series win in South Africa; Agar especially bowled outstandingly on the trip, bagging a five-fer in the first game. 

For the Proteas, wristspinner Tabraiz Shamsi, who was the sole bright spot amid his team's bowling attack, also made a rise of three spots to reach the fifth position.
