Virat Kohli has dropped to the 10th position in ICC T20I Batting Rankings whereas in-form KL Rahul has retained the second spot.

South Africa hosted the England cricket team for a high-scoring three-match T20I series which saw the captains of both sides firing all cylinders in the series. As England played a tad better than South Africa to win 2-1, let’s have a look at the contributions of Eoin Morgan.

He was the highest run-scorer in the series with scores of 52 off 34, 27 off 24 and 57* off 22 balls. The left-hander ended up with 136 runs in the series at an average of 68.00 at a strike rate of 170. He replaced Indian skipper Virat Kohli at the ninth position in the T20I Batting Rankings and thus pushed Indian vice-captain, Rohit Sharma, out of the top 10.

After scoring just 5 runs less than Morgan, his counterpart Quinton de Kock contributed 131 runs for South Africa in the series. He scored 31 off 15 balls, 65 off 22 balls and 35 off 24 balls in the three matches. He averaged 43.67 in the series and had a strike rate of a whopping 214.75 runs per 100 balls. He jumped 10 spots in the Rankings list and is now placed 16th.

South Africa v England did not have an impact at the top of the table and hence Pakistan’s Babar Azam and India’s KL Rahul continue to take the top two spots.
