Rohit Sharma says "There is no age to start any sport" to youth; cites example of Michael Hussey

Rohit Sharma is back home after being ruled out of NZ Test series.

Rohit Sharma's New Zealand tour was cut short due to him suffering a hamstring injury in the fifth T20I. After looking at his recent form, it would have been really exciting to see him bat in the Tests but sadly it was not meant to be.

Even though a lot of his fans are disappointed to not see their favorite cricketer play in the longest format, he himself is pretty calm and is looking to make up for it.

While talking in a chat show, the host asked Rohit about the correct age for a kid to pick up any sport in order to excel in it. To which, the swashbuckling opener replied, “There is a very Australian cricketer Michael Hussey, he made is Australian (Test) debut when he was 30. He played for 6-7 years and he is called Mr. Cricket. This is good learning for all of us, there is no age to start any sport.

The right-hand batsman who also leads the Mumbai based franchise in the Indian Premier League then gave another example of world-famous footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is a big example. He lost his father at an early age. He was brought up by his mother alone, it was not an easy household to be a part of. But look where he is now. You can't stop believing,” Rohit said.

The 32-year-old, who is also set to miss the upcoming South Africa series, is expected to make a comeback in the IPL 2020.
