Veteran Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal rated Virat Kohli over his competitors Joe Root and Steve Smith. In a chat session on Akmal's Twitter account, a fan asked him to name the best among Kohli, Smith, and Root. 

All three of them have been the strongest pillars of their teams and they are named among the best batsmen of the current time.

Akmal responded to the question asked by a fan with a one-word answer. It was 'Kohli'.

Virat is number one in ICC's Test and ODI rankings. Joe Root is number eighth in Test and ODIs, while Smith is second in the longest format. 

Kohli has an equally good impact in all three formats. The India captain scores with 50+ batting average in every format of the game. He is close to completing 12,000 runs in ODIs.
