Former Australia legendary fast bowler Glenn McGrath's prediction from 2003 caught everyone by surprise. He had made a bright future prediction for the New Zealand bowler Neil Wagner 17 years back.

Wagner himself was surprised to read about McGrath's prediction on him. The kiwi speedster is currently the number 2 Test bowler in the world.

Responding to the post where he read the prediction, Wagner wrote, “Didn’t know this! Amazing and extremely kind! Remember how awesome McGrath and Brett Lee were! Carried my bag back to my parents car! Feels like yesterday!!”

McGrath had worked with young bowlers in Pretoria during the 2003 World Cup. Writing about the task to coach the teenagers in his World Cup Diary, he wrote, “The one standout is a left armer, whose hero is Allan Donald — you can tell by the way he follows through, a mirror image of AD. His name is Neil Wagenaar and he’ll be someone to look out for it the future."

Wagner, South Africa born, went to New Zealand in 2008 and four years later, he represented the Black Caps in Test cricket.
