Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez isn’t pleased with the treatment given by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to the senior players, urging the board to pay attention to bridging the communication gap with senior players.

He believes that there is a communication gap between senior players of the Green Army and the PCB and it needs to be bridged by the board as it will help them to take the right decision about their career.

Hafeez questioned the same after he and Shoaib Malik played a key role in Pakistan’s 2-0 success in the recently concluded three-match T20I series against Bangladesh with the third and final match washed out in Lahore on Monday (January 27).

The two senior players’ show helped the side to retain the No.1 spot on the ICC T20I Rankings as well as return in the winning ways after 8 defeats off their 9 outings in the format.

Hafeez said in Lahore, “I think senior players after the years they have played for Pakistan should be informed properly if they are in the plans of the national team management so that they can take better decisions on their future. It would be easier for the players if a communication policy is framed on matters of selection or non-selection of senior players.”

He is set to retire from international cricket after the T20 World Cup 2020 later this year and the all-rounder insisted that he is ready to continue contributing at his best after impressive comeback show against Bangladesh, scoring 69 in his only appearance in the second T20I in Lahore.

Hafeez signed off by saying, “It was good to come back and get runs and it just pumped up my confidence even more that I can still add value to the team. I would like to contribute as a batsman and bowler to the Pakistan team and I am very confident I will clear the test because I don't see any major problems in my bowling action.”
