PAK v BAN 2020: Shoaib Malik fifty helps Pakistan to a 5-wicket win in 1st T20I

Pakistan lost the toss and was asked to chase by Bangladesh. They also gave debuts to Ahsan Ali and Haris Rauf. Openers Tamim Iqbal (39) and Mohammad Naim (43) added 71 runs for the first wicket in 11 overs. After that, the visitors lost the plot a bit as Mahmudullah (19*) and Liton (12) helped the team to 141/5 in 20 overs. Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Shadab Khan picked a wicket each.

In reply, skipper Babar Azam fell for a duck, but debutant Ahsan Ali made 36, while Hafeez made 17 to bring stability to the innings. But the man to take them to the victory was Shoaib Malik, who remained unbeaten on 58* in 45 balls, while Iftikhar Ahmed made 16 runs, as Bangladesh rued crucial dropped catches.

Pakistan won the game with 3 balls to spare with 5 wickets in hand.
