Brendon McCullum asks Jimmy Neesham to "carry on" after his injury

George Worker hit a sublime 135 and 55 from Cole McConchie helped New Zealand to 295/7 in 50 overs. Then Kyle Jamieson (2/69) and Jacob Duffy (2/35), along with Neesham kept the Indian team to 266/9 despite a last-ditch effort from Krunal Pandya, who made 51 and contributions from Ishan Kishan, Vijay Shankar, and Akshar Patel.

However, the match left an impact on Jimmy Neesham, literally, as he injured himself while batting during the New Zealand A innings. The funnyman took to Twitter and shared an image of his chin being cut on the right side as the all-rounder explained that he reverse swept the ball onto his own face. He tweeted, “Got fixed up good today! Lesson: don’t reverse sweep up into your own face ????????????

He got a surprise reply from former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, who was known for his dangerous shots like the ramp shot and going on one knee to carve the fast bowler over fine leg. McCullum, replied, “#CarryOn ????

To which, Neesham replied that he had to let people know how tough he was because the game was not shown on the TV. “Game wasn’t on tv, had to let everyone know how hard I am somehow! ???? #carryonking,” he tweeted.
