ICC shares latest picture of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium; fans amazed

The stadium will host an exhibition match between Asia XI and World XI in March.

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium in Motera, Gujarat will soon become the world's biggest cricket stadium. International Cricket Council (ICC) updated fans about the ongoing reconstruction of the stadium. 

ICC posted a picture of the stadium and showed the stadium is almost complete. It was completely demolished in late 2016 for revamp. Now, the stadium can have a seating capacity of 110,000 spectators.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) took over the construction work of the stadium in December 2016. They won the bid among three shortlisted bidders. 

Motera had hosted India vs Australia World Cup 2011 quarter-final match, which the home team won by 5 wickets. 

The stadium is getting a new look which will be completed very soon. The venue will host an Asia XI and World XI exhibition match in March this year. 

Sharing the latest picture, ICC wrote, "A glimpse of Motera #Cricket Stadium under construction in Ahmedabad ???? When complete, it will be the largest in the world, holding 110,000 fans ????".
