Pakistan’s pace legend Shoaib Akhtar terrorized many great batsmen in his career like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Ricky Ponting and AB de Villiers with his fiery bowling but he was mightily impressed with Australia’s batting legend for his great courage.
The legendary pace bowler has showered rich praise on the legendary Australia captain Ponting, labeling him the “bravest” batsman he has ever seen in the game of cricket.
Recently, Ponting has named Wasim Akram and Akhtar as the best and the quickest fast bowlers respectively that he ever faced in his illustrious career.

The Australian legend also named West Indian bowling great Curtly Ambrose as one of the best fast bowlers has ever faced in his career while hailing Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.
A Twitter user asked Ponting to pick the bowlers he did not like to bat against, and the Aussie said: “Wasim Akram and Curtly Ambrose were easily the best fast bowlers I've ever faced. Shoaib Akhtar clearly the quickest but Harbhajan Singh got me out more than anybody.”
Following the words of praise from the Aussie great, Akhtar has shown great admiration for the Ponting, saying: “Ricky you were the bravest of all !!”
