The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has accused the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for giving false and misleading impressions about Pakistan players being ignored for the T20 games between the Asia XI and World XI to be held in Bangladesh.

The two T20 matches between Asia XI and World XI, are being organized by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to celebrate the birth centenary of 'Bongobondhu' Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founder of Bangladesh and scheduled on March 16 and 20 in Dhaka.

"No Pakistani players in Asia XI for two-match series with World XI in March," says BCCI

But, according to the report in the Dawn, as these dates clash with PSL 2020, the PCB has discussed that they will allow their players if the dates of the matches are changed.

Since the dates of both the series couldn't be changed, we offered our regrets to the BCB, both verbally and in writing, which they understood and accepted. It is unfortunate that the facts were twisted to mislead Pakistan cricket fans and followers,” PCB spokesperson said.

The BCCI Joint Secretary Jayesh George, on the other hand, told IANS that India and Pakistan players won’t play together in Asia XI as the Pakistanis are not invited.

What we are aware of is that there will be no Pakistan players in the Asia XI. That is what the message is, so, there is no question of both countries coming together or picking one over the other. Sourav Ganguly will decide the five players who will be a part of the Asia XI,” he said.

Even the PCB chief Ehsan Mani took a dig at the Indian government and said that India is a much bigger security threat as he said, “We have proved Pakistan is safe, if someone isn't coming then they should prove that it's unsafe. At this time, India is a far greater security risk than Pakistan.
