Former Pakistan cricketer Nasir Jamshed is all set to go on trial on Tuesday, December 10, on charges of being part of a conspiracy for alleged spot-fixing in the Pakistan Super League in Britain.

Before the scheduled trial in Manchester, Northwest England, Yousef Anwar, and Mohammed Ijaz on Monday, December 8, admitted that they had conspired to bribe professional cricketers.

With an intention to induce the cricketers to perform improperly in the tournament, the two pleaded guilty to conspiring together between November 2016 and February 2017 to offer financial advantages to players in the Pakistan Super League.

Further, Anwar and Ijaz made shocking revelations, saying the two did the same in the Bangladesh Premier League between November 2016 and December 2016.

However, the 33-year-old Jamshed, who has played Test, one-day and Twenty20 international cricket for Pakistan, has denied being part of the bribery conspiracy in the Pakistan Super League. On the other hand, the prosecutors will open their case against Jamshed at Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday (December 10).

Noteworthy, the British nationals Anwar, from Slough, west of London, and Ijaz, of Sheffield in northern England, had been granted bail ahead of sentencing, which is expected to take place early next year.
