Sourav Ganguly says "Please ask Dhoni," when asked about former captain playing in 2020 T20 World Cup

Ganguly was speaking to press after the 88th BCCI AGM.

MS Dhoni | GettyBCCI President Sourav Ganguly seemed to be on point with his answers during the press conference after the 88th Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was held today, on December 1, 2019.

During the presser, Ganguly was asked about MS Dhoni’s participation in the next year’s ICC T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia and the former India captain turned administrator curtly replied, "Please ask Dhoni.

The two-time World Cup-winning former India captain Dhoni has been out of cricket ever since the Men in Blue lost to New Zealand in the semis of the ICC World Cup 2019 and has not been part of the tour of the West Indies and the home series against South Africa and Bangladesh.

The 38-year-old, who captains Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, will miss the limited-overs home assignment against the West Indies, starting 6 December, and comprising three T20 Internationals and an equal number of one-dayers.

BCCI selection committee chief MSK Prasad had made it clear that they have moved on from Dhoni and are backing Rishabh Pant to the hilt despite the youngster’s poor form both in front of the stumps and behind them. Meanwhile, even Dhoni mentioned recently when asked about his return "January tak mat poocho".
