AFG v WI 2019: Only Test- West Indies crush Afghanistan by 9 wickets as Cornwall picks 10 wickets

Afghanistan was put in to bat first after Holder won the toss and chose to field. Scores in 30s from Ahmadi, Zazai, and Hamza led the team to 187 runs. The hero with the ball was Rahkeem Cornwall who picked career-best bowling figures of 7/75.

In reply, West Indies put up 277 runs on the board with Shamarh Brooks making his maiden Test ton, a score of 111 and John Campbell making 55. Debutant Amir Hamza picked 5/74, while Rashid Khan picked 3 wickets.

Cornwall picked 3 wickets to complete his maiden 10-wicket haul in Test matches, while Chase (3/10) and Holder (3/20) were the other wicket-takers.

West Indies were asked to chase 31 runs, which they did losing the wicket of Brathwaite and won the match by 9 wickets. Rahkeem Cornwall was named the Player of the Match for his 10 wickets in the match.
