AFG v WI 2019: Only Test, Day 2- Shamarh Brooks’ 111 and Cornwall's 10 wickets put West Indies in driver’s seat

Resuming on the day 1 score of 68/2, John Campbell made 55, while Brook carried on to make 111, his maiden century in Test matches. Though Afghan bowlers picked wickets in the middle order, Shane Dowrich made 42 and stretched the Windies score to 277 runs and took a lead of 90 runs.

Amir Hamza picked 5/77 on his Test debut, while Rashid Khan took 3/114 and Zahir Khan picked 2 scalps. Rahkeem Cornwall picked his first 10-wicket haul in Tests | CWI TwitterAfghanistan started off well in the second innings as Javed Ahmadi made 62 and Ibrahim Zadran made 23 runs, adding 53 for the first wicket. But then Cornwall struck again picking 3/41, while Roston Chase picked 3/10, as Afghanistan was left teetering at 109/7 by the end of day 2 with Afsar Zazai not out on 2 runs.

Rahkeem Cornwall, who had picked seven wickets in the first innings, completed his maiden ten-wicket haul in Tests, helping Windies in driver’s seat.
