Indian stumper Wriddhiman Saha has been lauded for his brilliant work with the gloves since his return to the Test scene with the series against South Africa and Bangladesh. His wicketkeeping in the first-ever day-night Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata was amazing with the ball moving every way possible.
However, it was revealed that Saha had suffered a fracture on the ring finger of his right hand and underwent surgery in Mumbai to fix the issue. Talking about the injury, Saha said, “It's like a normal fracture. It should not take more than five weeks to recover. I will take some rest at home and then the rehab process (at the National Cricket Academy) will follow."

The next Test assignment for Team India will be the two-Test series against New Zealand on the away tour in 2020. Meanwhile, Saha has returned to his home in Siliguri to spend time with family. Saha had to spend more than 18 months out of cricket after suffering injuries on the tour of South Africa and then injured his shoulder during IPL 2018.
"It was definitely challenging, especially under lights in the twilight period. The conditions were also hazy. The fielders at the boundary line were not able to sight the ball at one go. I guess we would not have faced this problem if the match was held in summer and not during winter,” Saha has said about the visibility of pink ball during the day-night Test match.
Talking about the same issue, Saha further said, "I wish the background (sightscreen) was brighter so the visibility could have been a bit better. The pink ball was definitely challenging. It's like the SG ball we were used to getting in the domestic one-dayers. There will be movements when the ball is new but when there's a bit of dew you won't get any swing at all."
Saha talked about the reception that the day-night Test match got from the fans, given that Eden Gardens was packed for the first two days of the match. However, he feels that this innovation should be used sparsely with red-ball matches being the majority.
"I think maximum matches would be in red ball only and this can be one-off in between. Whatever may be the color of the ball or the conditions, we will always be prepared. It's up to the BCCI to take the call," he concluded.
