India’s Test opener Mayank Agarwal has been enjoying great success on the field ever since he burst into the international arena last year.

The Karnataka batting star was drafted into India’s Test squad when the national openers were struggling, looking for a reliable option, though, their search ended on Agarwal. Since making his Test debut for India in Australia in December 2018, the right-hander never looked back, as he continued his red-hot form with the willow in the longest format of the game.

After finishing an impressive debut in Australia series with 195 runs last year, Agarwal cracked double-centuries in the recent back-to-back home series against South Africa and Bangladesh and made it to the top 10 in the ICC Test rankings for the batsmen.

However, the on-field success could not stop the star batsman from forgetting his roots, as the Bangalore lad shared a couple of touching photos with his grandparents on Twitter with the emotional caption.

Along with two pictures with his grandparents, the 28-year-old wrote on Twitter: “20 years ago, when we moved into our home, my grandfather took me for this walk. Even today, after I come back from every tour, the tradition continues.”

Meanwhile, the Indian opener was applauded by fans for his heart-warming post on Twitter with many praising the cricketer for not forgetting where he came from.

A user commented on the picture, “Lovely! Never forget your roots! One is always a child for his parents /grandparents” while another wrote: “Everyone should never forget the root. Go ahead, brother. More success to you.”
