England's leading Test wicket-taker James Anderson will continue his recovery from a calf injury at a specialist pace bowling camp in Potchefstroom ahead of the four-match Test series in South Africa.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday, November 26, confirmed that the 37-year-old will be continuing his rehabilitation from 1-14 December in Potchefstroom, South Africa, in a bid to attain full fitness to return to England's Test squad before South Africa Tests.

The veteran paceman will be joined by the fellow seamers Mark Wood, Olly Stone, Craig Overton, and Ollie Robinson, as well as, the wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow in Potchefstroom.

Anderson has been out of action since the opening Ashes Test against Australia, where he reinjured his calf and missed the rest of the Ashes, as well as, the ongoing New Zealand series, though, he is hoping to play in the South Africa series starting December 26.

Meanwhile, English batsmen Will Jacks, James Bracey, Dan Lawrence, Keaton Jennings, and Sam Hain and spinners Dom Bess, Mason Crane, and Amar Virdi will have a specialist camp in Mumbai.

As per reports in BBC, the ECB performance director Mo Bobat stated: “The individualised programmes are a great opportunity for some of our best young cricketers to focus on specific areas of their game in unfamiliar and challenging conditions around the world.”

He continued, “Some of the players involved are in England's immediate plans, while others will be working on areas that will benefit the national team's medium and long-term needs.”

Bobat signed off by saying, “We're fortunate to be working with a number of high-quality coaches and support staff to help deliver this fresh approach to our programming, which is a testament to the strong links we have with the counties.”
