Pakistan speedster Usman Shinwari has revealed his dream of dismissing India’s batting wizard Virat Kohli and former South African batting superstar AB de Villiers at least once in his career, saying the duo will be his dream wickets.

In the game, every bowler of the modern era wants to grab the precious wickets of Kohli and De Villiers and Shinwari is also dreaming to do the same.

The left-arm young paceman, who has represented Pakistan in as many as 17 ODIs and 16 T20Is so far before being overlooked for the ongoing Australia tour, has set his sights on De Villiers in the T20 leagues while aiming to play against India and take Kohli’s wicket.

He could have achieved his dream last year in a Asia Cup match against India, but the skipper was rested for the match in the tournament.

Shinwari told media at Karachi’s UBL sports complex, “These two are legendary figures in cricket and known for their skills with the bat, my dream is to bowl against them and take their wicket.”

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old wasn’t disappointed with his overlooking for the Australia tour, saying the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made the decision in the best interests of the side.

He continued, “It must be in the better interest of Pakistan team, the management tried a different combination. I don’t think that I was dropped, it was just a different combination.”

The fast-bowler, who is currently playing in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, said he always looks for a five-wicket-haul in innings whenever he plays red-ball cricket.

Shinwari signed off by saying, “I am always hungry for 5-fers in first class cricket and that’s my target every-time I play the longer format. I always try to give my best and achieve maximum for my team.”
