Alleged to have breached the conflict of interest clause, verdict in former India captain Rahul Dravid's case could come out soon after the hearing over the matter concluded in New Delhi on Tuesday (November 12) with BCCI ethics officer D K Jain saying his "order can be expected soon."

The complaint against Dravid was filed by MPCA life member Sanjiv Gupta as he took over as the director of cricket at the National Cricket Academy while still holding a post in India Cements, a Tamil Nadu-based company that also owns IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.

"The hearing has been concluded. You can expect my order soon," Jain told PTI.

Dravid was twice asked to depose before ethics officer but that had "no special reason. I had some doubts and I thought I must clarify them," Jain added.

In his earlier submission, Dravid had defended himself saying he has taken leave of absence from India Cements and he has nothing to do with the Chennai Super Kings.

As per the BCCI constitution, no individual can hold more than one post at the same time.

The Committee of Administrators (CoA) was in charge of the BCCI when the September hearing took place but a new set of officer-bearers were elected on October 23, ending the 33-month tenure of the Supreme Court-appointed panel.

Although, in its last report to the supreme court of India, the COA itself requested for amendments in the conflict of interest clause. If done so, it could pave way for a lot of former cricketers to once again contribute for the betterment of Indian cricket through administration and other roles.

Before taking over as the new BCCI president, former captain Sourav Ganguly also said it's an issue that needs a serious look in for discouraging former players from helping the growth of the sport in the country.

Under the previous regime led by COA, various India greats like Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman besides Ganguly and Dravid were sent notices over complaints of potential conflict of interest for holding multiple positions in the system.
