Jimmy Neesham prays to god to change the script as England win in Super Over again

England won yet another super over match against New Zealand.

England won the 5th T20I match via super over against New Zealand | GettyNew Zealand cannot seem to catch a break when it comes to playing England in Super Over in international cricket.

After losing to them in the finals of the ICC World Cup 2019 in which the main match and the Super Over were both tied, and England were crowned champions on the basis of now scrapped boundary rules; the Kiwis were on the wrong end of another similar situation involving England.

The two teams met in Auckland for the fifth and deciding the T20I match of the series. The match was curtailed to 11 overs per side due to rain and England won the toss and decided to chase. New Zealand slammed 146 runs with Guptill making 50, Seifert making 39 and Colin Munro making 46 as England bowlers were slammed to all parts of the ground.

Jonny Bairstow doesn't want England team to get habitual of super-overs for the win

In reply, England had Jonny Bairstow making 47 runs and contributions from the Curran brothers and Chris Jordan led them to 146/7 in 11 overs. Trent Boult, Mitchell Santner and Jimmy Neesham picked two wickets each.

The Super Over saw England batting first and making 17 runs thanks to a six each from Morgan and Bairstow, as Kiwi captain Tim Southee suffered. Meanwhile, in the chase, Chris Jordan did a Jofra Archer and picked Seifert’s wicket, while containing the runs to just 8 and won the Super Over and match for England.

This result led to Jimmy Neesham taking to Instagram and posting a pic of himself looking up in skies and captioning the post, “Hey you up there, any chance you could change the script?” This can be seen as hilarious given that Neesham was involved in the World Cup Super Over as well, and now this loss can break the spirits of the best of the players.
