Lungi Ngidi speaks how Bollywood chartbuster “Lungi Dance” has grown on him

Ngidi has been missing in action for quite some time now.

He became the best hope for the Proteas as Dale Steyn’s career was winding down and he was seen as the best partner for Kagiso Rabada. In 4 Tests and 22 ODIs, Ngidi has impressed everyone with his pace, but his fitness has been an issue for him, something that has sidelined him for the better part of 2019.

He missed the IPL 2019 due to back injury though he was a popular player for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2018 when the franchise won the tournament for the third time. During this season, Ngidi became familiar with the ‘Lungi Dance’, a Bollywood chartbuster song featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone from the movie Chennai Express.

“I am very familiar with the song when I played for the CSK. They used to play it a lot when I would be at the ground. The song has in fact grown on me and it’s something that I cherish,” he chuckles while talking to PTI.

I have seen the music video of the song and I saw him (SRK) in the music video as well. It’s a bit of clash there since he is KKR. It’s still a good song nevertheless,” he further said.
