Andre Russell feels T10 is tougher than T20 and can take Cricket to the Olympics.

The West Indian hard-hitting all-rounder Andre Russell is one of the most dangerous T20 batsmen and a very useful medium-pace bowler. He is one of those batsmen who will find the new shortest format easy. He will be a part of Abu Dhabi T10 League in November 2019.

He said, “It would be brilliant for cricket to become an Olympic sport and I know all players would love the opportunity of representing their country at an Olympic event.

Earlier, Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who will play for Lahore Qalandars, had also opined that T10 format will help cricket get into the Olympic Games. The hard-hitting Russell is also of the same opinion. He also believes that this format is tougher than T20 because every player gets even lesser time to settle in and has to hit the ground running as soon as possible.

The T10 format is obviously shorter than T20 and batsmen have very less time to get themselves in. You have to really attack and go after the bowling from ball one. As a bowler and a fielding team, you have to really be on your game and plan well as you know the batsmen are looking to take you down every delivery,” he said.

The expectations from this event are high as it claims to provide bigger entertainment than a T20 match and in even lesser time duration.

I am sure it will be a box office event,” Russell said about the tournament.
