Sreesanth reminds Shashi Tharoor whom Sanju Samson belongs to after he calls him “Thiruvananthapuram’s own”

Samson scored 212* in just 125 balls with 21 fours and 10 sixes.

Sanju Samson scored 212*

Sanju Samson created records after record during his amazing innings of 212* for Kerala against Goa in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20. He is finally realizing his potential and backing his promise with consistent runs, which had got him a T20I debut in 2015.

He has scored a couple of hundreds in IPL as well and is looking a very good competitor to Rishabh Pant in the limited-overs format, or even as a pure batsman. He smacked 212 in just 129 balls with his century coming off 66 balls and his double came in a record 125 balls, with 10 sixes and 21 fours to his name.

Following his knock, Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor congratulated him on the wonderful show. He took to Twitter and wrote, “In transit in Frankfurt on the way to the @IPUparliament meeting in Belgrade when i get the news that Thiruvananthapuram’s own Sanju Samson has hit 200 in a Vijay Hazare 50 over game! Ten sixes, 20 fours. Don’t know if our white-ball selectors were watching?!,”

However, fellow Kerala cricketer S Sreesanth took offense to Tharoor calling Samson as ‘Thiruvananthapuram’s own’. Sreesanth reminded him that Samson is a great Indian. He also praised Samson on the knock.

Sreesanth tweeted, “Sir..,Don’t tag him as just a Trivandrum boy..he is Malayalam”s proud son and a great INDIAN. He is gonna make all of us proud very soon by scoring big and better in internationals @where he belongs..let’s hope and give him the best support .. @IamSanjuSamson
