Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has on Friday (October 11) advised Sarfraz Ahmed to take some time off from international cricket to regain his form back.

Sarfaraz, Pakistan cricket captain, has been on the radar of the critics for quite some time now, especially after Men in Green’s whitewash at the hands of second-string Sri Lanka at home recently in T20I series.

The wicket-keeper batsman has also been going through the horrid form which effectively took a toll on his confidence and is also hurting the team’s show and Latif urged him to take a break for a short time.

As per reports in Brecorder, Latif said in a video: “When you are under pressure, then I believe one should avoid one or two games. This is the same thing I said to Kamran Akmal to take a rest for four, five months but no one wants to take the rest.”

Meanwhile, the former national selector lashed out at Sarfaraz for his decision to move up in the batting order, as he batted at No 4 but managed to score only 17 runs leaving the team under terrible pressure in the T20I series against Sri Lanka in Lahore.

He also believes that Sarfaraz is also missing the mark with his wicket-keeping.

Latif signed off by saying, “Skipper Sarfaraz doesn’t seem confident at all, and is not doing well with the bat as well so going at number four was not a wise decision.”
