Virat Kohli needs to bring back Chahal and Kuldeep in T20Is again, says Sourav Ganguly

Ganguly also speak about Rishabh Pant's form in limited-overs cricket.

Chahal and Yadav not played limited-overs cricket since World Cup 2019

Sourav Ganguly on Thursday (September 26) has suggested India cricket captain Virat Kohli to bring the wrist-spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav back into the T20 International set-up after Men in Blue have again failed to win a T20I series against South Africa at home.

Since the World Cup 2019, Chahal and Kuldeep have not featured in India’s T20I squad for both West Indies and South Africa series and before the home series, Kohli revealed that they were looking at batting depth till No.9, therefore they have given the opportunity to Krunal Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar for the recently tied T20I series.

However, former Indian captain doesn't two believe India needs two left-arm spinners and also said Chahal should be given rest only if they have to give someone else a chance in the format.

Ganguly wrote in his column for Times of India, “Virat needs to bring back the wrist spinners into this format. I hope Yuzvendra Chahal has only been rested to give the opportunity to others or else he is a must for India in the T20 format. India doesn’t need two left-arm spinners.”

On Rishabh Pant's dismal form in the limited-overs cricket, he believes that “Virat’s guidance will see him through and that ultimately matters” while hailing the 21-year-old as a match-winner for India.

Ganguly signed off by saying, “His (Pant's) entry into international cricket has been brilliant and for me, he is India’s solution for all the formats. There has been talk about Pant’s shot selection and rightly so but all must understand, he will learn and only get better.”
