St Lucia Zouks defeated St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 20 runs this Tuesday (September 24) in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2019.

It was a good performance by Zouks who scored 165/6 in 20 overs after being put in to bat on losing the toss. The hosts later defended the total quite comfortably, restricting Patriots to 145/9.

Earlier, Andre Fletcher (36) and Daren Sammy (30) played crucial knocks as Zouks posted a fighting total on the board despite good spells from Patriots bowlers Mohammad Hafeez (3/22) and Alzarri Joseph (2/20).

In the run-chase, Patriots' batsmen failed quite miserably, with only Laurie Evans (28) and Mohammad Hafeez (29) going past the 20-run mark.

Hardus Viljoen (3/14), Fawad Ahmed (2/19), delivered the stand-out spells for Zouks, who clinched a very important win to stay in contention for the title.

Viljoen was awarded the "Player-of-the-Match" for his bowling.
