Former Pakistan captain-turned-commentator Ramiz Raja has on Sunday, September 22, called on the national side to play fearless cricket with a different approach in the upcoming series against Sri Lanka.

He further believes that the Pakistan selectors should have picked some U-23 and U-19 players for the limited-overs series against the Islanders, as he feels the home series will be ideal for them to gain confidence.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka are scheduled to play three One Day Internationals (ODI) and as many T20 Internationals in Karachi and Lahore starting with first ODI from September 27.

The commentator believes that the time has come for Pakistan to play fearless cricket and experiment variety of shots with a mix of all level players in order to become a great team in the world cricket.

Raja said on his YouTube channel, “We cannot become a great team or player if we won't play fearless cricket with a different approach. Under23 and Under19 players should have been included in the series as it was the best opportunity for players to gain confidence.”

Meanwhile, the Pakistan cricket has new team management along with a new season, and former cricketer feels the national side must take on Islanders with a new approach.

Raja signed off by saying, “Pakistan team management and captain's different approach would be seen in the series if the team wins with big margins.”
