Indian cricket team under the leadership of Virat Kohli has played some outstanding cricket in the last couple of years on foreign soil.

Winning Test series down under, thrashing West Indies in all formats, lifting the Asia Cup in UAE and beating South Africa, New Zealand and Australia in ODI series are some of the notable performances of Team India away from home.

Hence, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) running BCCI has decided to reward the players by doubling their daily allowance when on tour.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the Indian players and coaching staff will now get a daily allowance of $250 (Rs 17,799.30) as compared to the earlier amount of $125 (Rs 8,899.65).

The pay at home, however, remains unchanged.

The report further states that the foreign travel allowance is over and above the business class travel, accommodation and laundry expenses that the BCCI pays for.

India’s majority of the cricket assignment this season is at home. Virat Kohli and company will travel to New Zealand at the start of 2020 for five T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests.
