Bangladesh and Zimbabwe faced each other in the 4th match of T20I tri-series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Wednesday (September 18).

Sent to into bat by Zimbabwe skipper Hamilton Masakadza, Bangladesh posted 175/7 in 20 overs on the back of Mahmudullah’s 41-ball 62. Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim also played valuable knocks of 38 and 32 respectively.

Kyle Jarvis was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe, claiming 3 for 32 in his 4 overs. Chris Mpofu also chipped in with a couple of wickets by conceding 42 runs in his 4 overs.

Defending to total, Bangladesh bowlers didn’t allow any substantial partnership to flourish. While Shafiul Islam (3/36), Aminul Islam (2/18) and Mustafizur Rahman (2/38) dented the visitors with a couple of wickets, Mohammad Saifuddin and Shakib Al Hasan chipped in with one scalp each.

Barring Richmond Mutumbami (54 off 32 balls), no other Zimbabwe batsman managed to cross the 30-run mark as Bangladesh eventually bowled out the tourists for 136 in 20 overs, securing a convincing 39-run victory.

Brief Scores:

Bangladesh – 175/7 in 20 overs (Mahmudullah 62; Kyle Jarvis 3/32) defeated Zimbabwe – 136/10 in 20 overs (Richmond Mutumbami 54; Shafiul Islam 3/36) by 39 runs.
