MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli during that match against Australia in ICC WT20 2016 | TwitterMS Dhoni has been missing in action ever since India crashed out of the ICC World Cup 2019 in the semi-finals against New Zealand. Dhoni, who scored a fifty in the match, was runout and with him ended India’s hopes of making it into the finals.

He made himself unavailable for the West Indies tour, instead opting to serve the Indian Army for 15 days. He has not been picked for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa and rumors of his impending retirement from the game have gained traction ever since.

These rumors became ever stronger when captain Virat Kohli shared an image from India’s splendid chase against Australia in the ICC World T20 2016, when Dhoni along with Kohli, led India to an amazing win, which saw the duo keep up with the run rate by converting singles into doubles.

Dhoni joined Kohli in the middle and stitched an unbeaten match-winning partnership of 67 runs to put the 'Men in Blue' over the line. Dhoni, who is always hailed as one of the fastest runners between the wickets, made Kohli run harder and covert ones into twos.

Kohli tweeted, "A game I can never forget. Special night. This man, made me run like in a fitness test @msdhoni"

This tweet led to a flood of users speculating that MS Dhoni might be calling time on his illustrious career and it led to many tweets on the issue.
