Salman Butt accuses Shahryar Khan and Najam Sethi for discriminating against him

Salman Butt has not been recalled to the Pakistan side after the end of his spot fixing ban, unlike Mohammad Amir.

Tainted Pakistan batsman Salman Butt accused former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairmen Shahryar Khan and Najam Sethi for discriminating against him and for not reinstating him in the national fold like Mohammad Amir.

Butt, along with Amir and Mohammad Asif served their multi-year sporting bans for their roles in the infamous 2010 spot-fixing scandal, however, only, the left-arm paceman was given the opportunity to return to national colors.

And the former Pakistan captain slammed the former PCB officials for the favoritism, saying he was not given a single chance at international level despite his strong performances in the domestic circuit over the years. Now, he is hoping that the new team management would take decisions on merit.

According to a report in Express-News on Tuesday, 20th August, Butt sated: “I had served out my five-year ban. Year after year I also performed brilliantly in domestic cricket, then why was I discriminated against? The answer to this can only be given by former chairmen Shahryar Khan and Najam Sethi as there was one standard set for an individual and another for others.”

He signed off by saying, “Anyone can see that I deserved to be in the side. I hope the new team management would take decisions on merit.”
