Hubli Tigers and Bijapur Bulls faced each other in the 13th match of Karnataka Premier League (KPL) 2019 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Thursday (August 22).

Tigers skipper Vinay Kumar won the toss and opted to bowl first in a rain-marred 19-over contest. Vidyadhar Patil (3/18) and captain Vinay (2/18) himself delivered outstanding spells as Tigers restricted Bulls to 119/7.

Raju Bhatkal was the lone warrior with the bat for Bijapur, scoring 67 off 53 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Chasing the revised target of 124, Hubli Tigers got off to a terrible start as half their batsmen gone back to the pavilion with just 48 runs on the board. The pair of KL Shrijith and Praveen Dubey steadied the sheep by adding 33 runs for the sixth wicket.

After Shrijith’s dismissal on 18, Dubey (27 off 19 balls) shared a 20-run partnership with Aditya Somanna to take Tigers over the 100-run mark.

Needing 20 runs from the last 12 balls, David Mathias (20 off 10 balls) in the company of Somanna (14 off 15 balls) accumulated 8 runs from the penultimate over and hit a six in the last delivery of the match to reach the target.
