Bellary Tuskers and Bijapur Bulls faced each other in the 8th match of Karnataka Premier League (KPL) 2019 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Tuesday (August 20).

Sent into bat first, Bulls rode on Raju Bhatkal’s 43-ball 62 and captain Bharath Chipli’s 39-ball 50 to post 162/7 on the board.

For Tuskers, Krishnappa Gowtham was the stand-out bowler, taking 3 for 33 in his 4 overs. Prasidh Krishna also claimed two wickets by giving away 17 runs in his 4 overs.

In reply, Bellary Tuskers got off to a brilliant start as the duo of Abhishek Reddy and Karthik CA put on 100 runs for the opening wicket in 11.2 overs. Suneel Raju broke the partnership by dismissing Karthik on 57 off 36 balls.

Afterwards, Reddy added 51 runs for the second wicket with Devdutt Padikkal to put the side on the brink of victory. Although Padikkal (29) got out with the team needing 12 runs to win, Reddy (62 not out off 54 balls) stayed there till the end to guide Bellary Tuskers over the line with seven wickets and as many balls to spare.
