Indian cricket fraternity wishes the nation on 73rd Independence Day

India is celebrating it's 73rd Independence Day today on August 15.

As India celebrates it's 73rd Independence Day today (August 15), former and current Indian cricketers took to social media to wish fellow countrymen and urged them to do what they can for the progress of the nation as a whole.

While Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi hoisted the tri-color in New Delhi, the Indian cricket team gifted the fans with a series victory overnight in West Indies, with captain Virat Kohli scoring his 43rd ODI ton.

Independence day brings out patriotism in everyone, as people remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters who laid their lives for country. It's also a day when people pledge to unite against all odds and fight the difficulties that come through in the way of being the second most populated country in the world.

We wish all the Indians around the world a very Happy Independence Day, and bring you some of the tweets posted by the Indian cricketing fraternity.
