England women’s wicket-keeper Sarah Taylor has had a history with mental illness. Recently, she surprised one and all by posting a picture of herself wearing nothing but her wicket-keeping gloves for a social cause.

Women’s Health is a magazine which spreads awareness about the mental and physical health of females. Taylor, who is a victim of mental illness like anxiety and stress, had to beat some of the mental issues to be able to be a part of the campaign.

She bared it all while taking the bails off in a campaign for the magazine. She mentioned in the caption on her Instagram page that it was out of her comfort zone to be naked for the photoshoot but it felt powerful.

The caption read, “Anyone that knows me will know that this is a little out of my comfort zone, but I’m so proud of myself and grateful to @womenshealthuk for inviting me to be a part of this issue. I’ve always had issues with my body and I had to get over a few in order to do this and it was completely empowering. Every other girl looks stunning! Please remember EVERY woman is BEAUTIFUL. Thank you to everyone involved!

The 30-year-old Sarah Taylor has taken a break from international cricket on more than one occasion due to her mental illness. The most recent incident being the Women’s Ashes 2019. She took a break during the series saying, “I don’t want people to feel this is exactly the same. There are plenty of challenges I’ve overcome on the way but mental health is not something you ‘beat’.

Taylor has over 6000 runs in international cricket and has made her name as one of the best wicket-keepers in the women’s game.
