The newly conceptualised ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 - featuring seven teams, Namibia, Nepal, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, UAE and the USA - will kickstart the qualification pathway towards the 2023 World Cup in India on August 14.

These seven nations will play 36 ODIs each across 21 tri-series, with a top-three finish in the points table enabling a direct entry into the 2022 World Cup qualifier.

The bottom four teams will drop down to the Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-Off 2022, which is a repechage event to the Global Qualifier, and will be joined by the winner of Challenge League A and B.

The top two teams from the Play-Off will join the sides finishing bottom five in the ICC Super League as well as top-three seedings from the CWC League 2 at the global qualifier in 2022 and keep their World Cup hopes alive.

"The new structure has given meaningful context to bilateral cricket for the Men's Cricket World Super League, but also more competitive opportunities to Associate Members."
