Tom Banton's sensational 52-ball 100 featured in Somerset's magnificent victory over Kent in the South group of Vitality T20 Blast 2019 on Saturday (August 10).

Banton's effort was glint with nine fours and five sixes as his team posted 206/8 in its allotted 20 overs with the bat before bundling out Kent at only 151 in 18.4 overs.

The 20-year-old, with only 11 List A games behind him, had the moment of his career so far as he earned "Player-of-the-Match" award in Somerset's fifth win of the tournament in nine games, including four losses. The club is now third in the nine-team points table.

Earlier, skipper Tom Abell provided Banton the support he needed with a superb 33-ball 63 of his own.

Adam Milne (2/35), Mohammad Nabi (1/46), Hardus Viljoen (1/33), Fred Klaassen (0/37), Mitchell Claydon (0/32) and Daniel Bell-Drummond (2/19) tried hard with the ball for Kent but couldn't stop the run flow.

In the run-chase, only Drummond (36), Zak Crawley (35) and Heino Kuhn (20) reached the 20-run mark, while the rest struggled, as Max Waller (2/27), Jerome Taylor (2/27) and Craig Overton (3/32) delivered impactful spells for Somerset.

But this game will be remembered for an outstanding knock from Tom Banton.
