Fans got to watch a very unusual sight on the cricket field. The Nigerian King had come to watch Global T20 Canada eliminator match between Toronto Nationals and Winnipeg Hawks. In the mid-innings, the King blessed the CAA Centre in Brampton.
Former Australia cricketer, now a commentator, Dean Jones shared a video on his Instagram account where the King can be seen standing with his wives and giving blessings.
"You don’t see a King at the cricket everyday! The King of Nigeria and his wives! Giving us his blessings. #niceofhim #king #Nigeria," he wrote.
Talking about the game, it ended in a very unpleasant way. The result was controversial as Yuvraj Singh-led side was declared on the losing side after the game was stopped because of bad light.
Batting first, Toronto scored 238/5, and the score was chaseable considering the batting line up of Hawks. They scored 201/5 in 17.1 overs before the game was called off and DLS method worked for them.
