MSK Prasad says that he enjoyed Ambati Rayudu's 3D Glasses tweet, it was timely and fantastic

Rayudu's 3-dimensional glasses tweet went viral, after he was not picked in India's World Cup squad.

At the time of announcing India's 15-man squad for the World Cup, chief selector MSK Prasad had reasoned out the three-dimensional ability possessed by all-rounder Vijay Shankar, who was preferred over Ambati Rayudu in the team, who, to his credit, did whatever that was asked of him.

"We did give a few more chances to Rayudu but Vijay Shankar gives three dimensions. He can bat if the conditions are overcast, he can bowl, plus he is a fielder. We are looking at Vijay Shankar as a No. 4," Prasad was quoted as saying back then.

A disappointed Rayudu, quite amusingly, took to Twitter and wrote: "Just Ordered a new set of 3D glasses to watch the world cup."

It seemed in jest back then but the despair ran deep as Rayudu, who played 55 ODIs and 6 T20Is for the country, announced his retirement from all forms of the game after he was overlooked as a replacement for injured Shikhar Dhawan and then Vijay Shankar, despite being a standby player.

But now, responding to Rayudu's jibe at his words on Sunday (July 21), Prasad, has announced India's squads for the full tour of the Caribbean next month, said it was a "lovely tweet; I really enjoyed it. It was timely. fantastic. There were certain programs to see Ambati Rayudu comes into the setup. We (selection committee) don't have anything against a particular player."

"When Rayadu was picked for ODIs on the basis of his T20 performance, there was criticism, but we had some thoughts about him. When he failed the fitness test, we put him for a fitness program. Due to certain combinations, he wasn't picked, it doesn't make Selection Committee biased," Prasad signed off.
