One of the greatest cricketers ever to play the game, Sachin Tendulkar became sixth Indian to be inducted in the ICC Hall of Fame. He was included in the list of greats on Thursday. Along with Sachin, the former South African pacer Allan Donald and Australia's women's cricket icon Cathryn Fitzpatrick were added too.

They were questions on why Tendulkar had not been introduced to the Hall of Fame right after his retirement? Even his former teammates Anil Kumble and Dravid were inducted by the ICC before Tendulkar, much to the surprise of his diehard fans.

But as per the rule of ICC, Sachin has got into the Hall of Fame in the right time. The criteria to be inducted into the Hall of Fame is that after a player completes five years of retirement, then he/she becomes eligible for induction.

Dravid, who retired in 2012, and Kumble, who bid adieu to international cricket in 2008, were eligible for the Hall of Fame before Sachin who played till 2013.

Apart from Rahul, Kumble, and Sachin, Bishen Singh Bedi, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar are the other Indians cricketers in the Hall of Fame.
