Shane Watson to play in Bangladesh Premier League for Khulna Titans

Shane Watson, former Australia captain, and all-rounder, is all set to play in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2019-20 after being signed up by the Khulna Titans on Thursday, 18th July.

The T20 franchise on Thursday confirmed Watson’s signing for the upcoming BPL 2019-20 while expressing hope that the Aussie’s experience and his winning mentality will contribute significantly to the team’s goal to win the title in the upcoming seventh season.

Watson is likely to available for a full season of BPL 2019-20 starting from the first week of this December and Khulna Titans Managing Director Kazi Inam Ahmed was delighted with the overseas signing.

Mr. Inam said of Watson, “Khulna Titans is excited to have Shane Watson join the franchise. He is a true champion; having won many titles for his country and the franchise teams he has represented around the world. His experience and his winning mentality will contribute significantly to the team. Hopefully, Shane will propel us to the title that we have been working so hard for.”

Meanwhile, Watson was also delighted to be part of the franchise and is excited to play in front of the incredible Bangladesh cricket loving fans in the T20 tournament.

He continued, “I am super excited to join the Khulna Titans for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League season. The BPL is a tournament that I have always wanted to play in and now I finally get my chance. There are so many great cricketers playing in the BPL from the local Bangladesh stars to the overseas superstars, so it is going to be very special to finally be a part of it.”

Watson signed off by saying, “The other very special thing for me is to have the chance to play in front of the incredible Bangladesh cricket loving fans again. The coaching and management team at the Khulna Titans are putting together an amazing squad so hopefully, we can bring home that title that we have always been looking for.”
