India ‘A’ continued their dominance in the ongoing Caribbean tour, beating the home team in the second unofficial one-day game at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua on Sunday (July 14).

Opting to bat first, India ‘A’ rode on Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 102-ball 85 and Shubman Gill’s 83-ball 62 to post 255/8 on the board. The captain Manish Pandey(27), Ishan Kishan (24) and Hanuma Vihari (23) were all dismissed in their twenties.

For West Indies ‘A’, Romario Shepherd was the stand-out bowler, picking 4 wickets for 36 runs in his 10 overs. Akeem Jordan, Raymon Reifer, Rahkeem Cornwall and Khary Pierre also chipped in with wicket apiece.

In reply, West Indies ‘A’ got off to a terrible start, losing John Campbell in the second over to Khaleel Ahmed. Just when Sunil Ambris and Reifer were taking the hosts out of trouble, Navdeep Saini came to bowl in as second-change and dismantled the backbone of West Indies A. He removed Ambris, Roston Chase and Jonathan Carter in quick succession.

From 77 for 5, West Indies A clawed their way to a respectable 190 courtesy Reifer's gritty 71. But with no support from any others batsmen, the home team eventually fell 65 runs short of the target. Saini finished with 5 for 46 in 8.5 overs while Rahul Chahar picked up two wickets in his quota of 10 overs.

Brief scores:

India ‘A’ – 255/8 in overs (Ruturaj Gaikwad 85; Romario Shepherd 4/36) beat West Indies ‘A’ – 190 all-out in 43.5 overs (Raymon Reifer 71; Navdeep Saini 5/46) by 65 runs.
