South Africa pace great Dale Steyn has been named as one of the marquee players available to be picked for the inaugural Euro T20 Slam this year. 

The tournament begins on August 30 with six franchises - two each from Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands - Amsterdam Kings & Rotterdam Rhinos, Glasgow Giants & Edinburgh Rocks, and Dublin Chiefs & Belfast Titans respectively, to take part in a double round-robin bout before the knock-outs. 

The event roped in Shane Watson, Brendon McCullum, Chris Lynn, Luke Ronchi and Shahid Afridi as icon players at the time of its announcement. Eoin Morgan, JP Duminy, Rashid Khan, Imran Tahir have also joined in, and reportedly AB de Villiers, Yuvraj Singh might also come on board soon. 

Steyn, who aggravated a shoulder niggle picked up during his time with franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2019, was ruled out of the ongoing World Cup in England and Wales without playing a single game for South Africa. However, the man himself confirmed his participation for the Euro T20 Slam.
