Alex Hales is excited like any England fan or cricketer for the high-voltage World Cup 2019 encounter between England and Australia on Tuesday, 25th June at Lord’s even though Nottinghamshire batsman is out of hosts’ World Cup campaign after failing failed drug test for the second time in his career.

Ahead of the enthralling encounter at Lord’s, the right-hander said that he is wary of the new-ball threat Australia possess with Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins at the helm.

The 30-year-old further revealed that he has faced a really tough time against Cummins in the past and has a terrible record against the Australian speedster, saying he has scored only 3 runs and got out 4 times so far against the 26-year-old paceman.

Hales told Sky Sports, “I think Mitchell Starc and Cummins both are very different bowlers and they work so well in tandem. I’ve had nightmares facing Cummins in the past. I think he has got me out four times and I’ve scored three runs. So, I’m averaging 0.75 against him.”

Noteworthy, Alex has a terrible record against Australia in his ODI career, having mustered only 164 runs at an average of 23.42 with only a solitary half-century in his seven innings against the arch-rivals.
