All squads for the second edition of Global Canada T20 League were picked on Thursday (June 20) with a list of big names featuring at the draft. Among them, former India batsman Yuvraj Singh got roped in as the marquee player by Toronto Nationals. The tournament begins in Brampton from July 25 and culminates on August 11.

Yuvi, while announcing his retirement from international cricket after a 19-year-long career for India almost two weeks back on June 10, also confirmed interest in plying trade across the globe in T20 Leagues.

The Southpaw had written to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) seeking permission regarding the same.

"He wrote to the board yesterday. I don't see an issue in him getting the nod to play in overseas leagues now that he has retired from international cricket and IPL," a BCCI source had told the PTI.

Yuvraj himself said he wants to play some "fun cricket" post-retirement. "I want to play T20 cricket. At this age, I can manage to play some kind of fun cricket. I want to go and enjoy my life," he was quoted as saying.

The season 2 of GT20 sees Yuvraj play against New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, Andre Russell, Shahid Afridi, Chris Gayle, Wahab Riaz, Shakib Al Hasan, Sunil Narine, Faf du Plessis and other fantastic international cricketers. He'll be sharing the dressing room with India pacer Manpreet Gony, Brendon McCullum and Kieron Pollard at Toronto Nationals.
